Spring Begins

At our Taizhou Supercenter spring began today when we started sowing seeds. The crop is blue fruit tree, 蓝果树 in Chinese, Nyssa sinensis in Latin. This tree is native in China, like all the species we grow. Planting native trees in China’s cities helps increase biodiversity there and maintain it in the forest. In addition to storing lots of carbon in its wood, in spring this species has loads of tiny fragrant flowers that are loved by honeybees. Female trees produce blue fruits in autumn that people find attractive and bird love to eat.
